Jordan Werner is passionate about his students. Finding opportunities to teach children about healthy lifestyles, Werner gives students at Riverside Elementary School something to look forward to each day. 

Described as the type of teacher that makes students want to come to school each day, Werner is known for teaching students how to skateboard during PE class. 

“Jordan is a passionate and dedicated PE teacher”, describes Riverside Principal Rob Henderson. “He teaches healthy lifestyles, a variety of fun and healthy ways to be active and builds extremely positive relationships with students and families”. 

Werner has been named Southern Oregon’s ‘Teacher of the Year’. Throughout the state, 15 regional teachers have been chosen to compete for the statewide 2021 Oregon ‘Teacher of the Year’. A winner will be announced in Fall 2020. 

The Oregon ‘Teacher of the Year’ receives a $5000 cash prize and a matching $5000 grant for their school.
